Dahlias typically flower between around July and October, often continuing later in autumn if there’s no frost. They can be encouraged to start flowering earlier by planting early in spring in a heated greenhouse or indoors. They continue flowering through summer and into autumn if regularly deadheaded. During particularly hot, dry summers they may delay flowering until temperatures begin to cool off in late summer/early autumn.
