What happens if bulbs are not planted deep enough?Updated 21 days ago

If bulbs are not planted deep enough, they may not produce the expected results and it is possible that they may not grow successfully at all. Tall varieties usually need to be planted deeply to help anchor them into the ground. Planting bulbs too shallowly can also cause them to be damaged by frost or dried out by sun, this can stress the bulbs and cause stunted growth or reduced flowering. Bulbs planted too shallowly are also more vulnerable to being disturbed by pests like squirrels and mice.
