What do I do with summer bulbs after flowering?Updated 13 days ago
While the bulbs still have healthy foliage they should be left as they are and not cut back until the end of the growing season in autumn. Faded flowers can be deadheaded, often this will encourage further flowering later in the season. In autumn, foliage and stems can be cut right back. Tender or half hardy bulbs like dahlias and begonias should be lifted, dried and stored for winter. Hardy perennial bulbs like lilies and crocosmia can be cut back in autumn and remain outside for winter.
