Should you soak summer bulbs before planting?Updated 10 days ago
Most summer bulbs will not need soaking before planting, but should be watered in after planting. Ranunculus and anemones do usually benefit from soaking in water for 3-12 hours prior to planting as this rehydrates them and helps them to come out of dormancy. Bare root perennials should be watered in after planting. If you can’t plant bare roots straight away, the roots can be left in water to soak for 1-2 days prior to planting.
