Is it too late to plant bare root perennials in May?Updated 9 days ago
You can plant bare root perennials between February and June. Planting during May is fine if this is when they have been delivered to you. If your bare roots were delivered earlier in spring and stored until May, there is a chance they will have lost some freshness and viability, after prolonged storage there is an increased risk of failure. Bare roots planted in May will naturally be a little behind in their growth cycle and may not develop as much in the first year as they would if they were planted earlier in spring.
